In many of the languages in the South Omo zone, the Braille, Murule and Bacha people’s languages are disappearing. The University of Jinka, the Regional Culture Tourism and Sport Office and the South Omo Zone Culture and Sports Department have developed a consultation forum to address the problem. In this forum, experts from Addis Ababa University, Hawassa University, Dilla University, Arbaminch University, and Jinka University have discussed extensively and provided practical advice on how to preserve the three languages. The discussion was completed by outlining the activities to be undertaken and selecting candidates.

በደቡብ ኦሞ ዞን ከሚገኙ በርካታ ቋንቋዎች ውስጥ የብራይሌ (ኦንጎታ)፣ የሙርሌና የባጫ ብሄረሰብ ቋንቋዎች በመጥፋት ላይ ናቸው። የጂንካ ዩንቨርሲቲ፣ የክልሉ ባህል ቱርዝምና ስፖርት ቢሮ እና የደቡብ ኦሞ ዞን ባህል ቱርዝምና ስፖርት መምሪያ ለችግሩ መፍትሔ ለማፈላለግ የምክክር መድረክ አዘጋጅተዋል። በዚህ መድረክ ከአዲስ አበባ ዩኒበቨርሲቲ፣ ከሐዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ፣ ከዲላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ፣ ከአርባ ምንጭ ዩኒቨርሲቲ እና ከጂንካ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የተውጣጡ ዕውቅ ምሁራን በስፋት ተወያይተው ሶስቱን ቋንቋዎች ለመታደግ መደረግ ያለባቸውን ሙያዊ ምክር ለግሰዋል። ውይይቱ በቀጣይ ስለምከናወኑ ተግባራት አቅጣጫ በማስቀመጥና ፈፃሚዎችን በመምረጥ ተጠናቋል።
